Mach It Paid Captures Mid Summer Final
Mach It Paid rallied from fifth to first in the $12,500 Mid Summer Pacing Series Final at Kawartha Downs on Saturday night and opened up daylight on the field of $7,500 claiming pacers
.
The seven-year-old gelded son of Mach Three-Silver Words, driven by Brandon Campbell, got away fifth from Post 9 and quickly climbed his to the top past the half-mile mark. He kicked away from the trailing eight horses by five and a half lengths to secure the victory. Mach It Paid stopped the clock in a season's-best 1:53.2 for trainer and owner Isaac Waxman. Sign Of Fame (Kyle Balson) and Azoreansailor (Brad Rae) rounded out the top three.
Mach It Paid returned $10.40 to his backers as the second choice in the field. The win was his third in 20 starts this year and lifted his seasonal earnings to nearly $20,000. The 26-time career winner now sports a lifetime bankroll of $237,051.
