The Shane Forward-driven Machthemoment won the top class at the St. Johns Racing & Entertainment Centre on Sunday, July 3, the opening day of the 2011 racing season at the track.

Forward had three wins on the day as he also made trips to victory lane with KNGS Hurricane and Jerry Maguire.

Kevin McDonald also had a good opening day with two victories aboard Formac Melissa and a newcomer to the track, U S Charmeleon.

Other winners at the track on opening day were Dropdead Beautiful with Paul Downing, Pure Illusion with Wayne Williams and Le Moras Big Guy with Walt Deering, Jr.

Live racing at the track will resume on Sunday, July 10 at 2:00 p.m.
