McIntosh Filly Is Head Of The Class
Class Of O Nine proved to be the leading lady in the first $130,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Gold final for two-year-old filly pacers held on Sunday
evening at Flamboro Downs.
After winning her Gold elimination one week ago, the homebred daughter of Camluck-Skippin went wire-to-wire to capture the first major test of her career.
Bob McIntosh trainee Class Of O Nine and driver Randy Waples took control of the freshmen fillies from the inside post position and carved out fractions of :28.1, :57.3 and 1:25.3 en route to establishing a new mark of 1:55 flat. Legal Entity (Luc Ouellette) got up for second over pocket-sitter Flight Delay (Jody Jamieson) while Ys Gold Star (Sylvain Filion), one of the other elimination winners, rallied wide off cover for fourth.
Class Of O Nine paid $4 to win as the even-money favourite. Owned by Robert McIntosh Stables Inc. of Windsor and Dwight Stacey of Mitchell, Ont., Class Of O Nine watched her bankroll climb to $85,000 after her second consecutive triumph.
