Lu Lu Q Clicks In NJSS Final
Lu Lu Q held off the challenge of Red High Heels and Tutu Hanover to win the $85,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes for two-year-old pacing fillies on Saturday at Freehold Raceway.
Lu Lu Q [$4.00, $3.00, $2.10] paced the mile in 1:56.1, picking up her third win in four starts for the team of driver Andy Miller and trainer Erv Miller.
The daughter of McArdle won by a neck over Red High Heels [by Cams Card Shark, $4.00, $3.80] in second and Tutu Hanover [by Western Ideal, $2.80] in third.
After winning a pair of baby race qualifiers at the Meadowlands in July, Lu Lu Q captured her first two pari-mutuel starts, including an opening round NJSS. She then finished out of the money in her previous start, the second NJSS leg on August 22, and skipped round three.
The first foal of Taylor Lou Q is owned by and was bred by Steve Stewart of Paris, Kentucky; Alan Quinn of Wellington and Frank Cannon of Lake Mary, Florida. She has a career bankroll of $56,000.
