.

The six-year-old son of Life Sign got away fourth in the eight-horse affair while Bet The House and Mchales Gravy battled to the quarter pole in :28.1. Bet The House won that battle and proceeded to lead the field through middle panels of :57 and 1:27.2. Life Savior found clearance in the lane and used a :29-second final frame to post the win by three-quarters of a length over Bet The House, with Pans O Silver taking home the show dough.

Duane McEachern trains the gelding for owner Kevin MacMillan of O’Leary, PEI, and together they watched the pacer win for the 24th time in his career and for the fourth time this season. He has stashed away more than $63,000 to date.

Earlier on the card, Dunmore Alpha front-stepped to a 2:00.3 victory in the $1,500 Open Trot for driver Mark Cullen and owner/trainer Edward Smallwood of Stratford, PEI. The eight-year-old son of Black River laid down fractions of :29.1, 1:00 and 1:30.3 before using a :30-second closer to seal the deal. Diana Car was a lapped-on runner, with Katies Victory taking home third prize.

Sent off at odds of 5-1 in the eight-horse affair, Dunmore Alpha improved his 2011 record to 3-1-3 in 11 starts while lifting his lifetime earnings over $62,000.
