Rey Family Helps Kick Off Manitoba Circuit
The Manitoba Great Western Harness Racing Circuit began with a bang for the Rey family this weekend at Miami
Fair.
Trainer Richard Rey sent out three winners on the seven-race Saturday program including three-year-old Armbro Trench pacing filly Radar Alert, eight-year-old Pacific Rocket gelding Kg Dna and five-year-old As Promised gelding Notacent Tobemade. All three were driven by his son, Michel.
Michel also piloted three-year-old Firm Friend colt Ramblin Wilmur to victory for veteran trainer-owner Ron Turnbull. This was the first time the 22-year-old driver won four races in one day.
On Sunday's card, Richard's daughter, Melanie, scored her first victory as a trainer with six-year-old Astreos gelding Wrangler Classico, also driven by brother Michel.
