Lu Lu Q Favoured In NJSS At Freehold
Lu Lu Q has been installed as the slight 5-2 morning line favourite for the $85,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes final for two-year-old pacing fillies on Saturday, September 6 at Freehold Raceway.
The daughter of McArdle will leave from Post 3 with Andy Miller in the race bike for trainer Erv Miller.
After winning a pair of qualifiers at the Meadowlands in July, Lu Lu Q triumphed in her first two pari-mutuel starts, including an opening round NJSS tilt. She finished out of the money in her last start, the second leg on August 22 and skipped round three.
The first foal of Taylor Lou Q is owned by and was bred by Steve Stewart of Paris, Kentucky; Alan Quinn of Wellington, Florida and Frank Cannon of Lake Mary, Florida.
Western Ideal filly Jkmusicofthenight -- who had a three-race winning streak which included a Kindergarten leg at the Meadowlands, the Molly Pitcher and opening round of the NJSS, both at Freehold Raceway -- is rated the 7-2 second choice from Post 4.
Wildflower Hanover and Arbeedo, who dead heated to win last week, both drew poorly with Wildflower Hanover, rated 9-2, leaving from Post 7 and Arbeedo, 10-1, from Post 8.
The New Jersey Sire Stakes at Freehold record for this age, gender and gait of 1:54.4 was set by Matts Scooter filly Coochie Mama in 2002.
