Knockout Artist Claims Second Series Title
Knockout Artist captured his second consecutive Kawartha Downs series title with a front-end effort in the $15,900 Pacin N Racing Series Final on Saturday night

The inside assignee went gate-to-wire, cruising past panels of :27.1, :56.2 and 1:24.2 along the way, before stopping the clock in 1:53.3, a lifetime best, with two lengths to spare. Elimination winner Stolen Car (Gord Brown) closed for second over pocket-sitter Thebestofjoel (Jason Woodward). Second over Intrigued Royally (Tony Kerwood), the other elimination winner and odds-on favourite, finished fourth.
Knockout Artist paid $5.70 to win as the second choice, after finishing second in his elimination. The three-year-old Real Artist-Eternitys Delight gelding, who also won the The Bachelor Pacing Series Final on May 26, is co-owned by trainer Tammey McEneny and Icr Racing of Pefferlaw, Ont. The win was his second in six outings and helped bump his bankroll to $18,672.
