Cruisinart Doubles Up At Northside
Cruisinart went straight to the front and never looked back en route to capturing his second consecutive victory in the $1,000 Winners Over Pace featured on Northside Downs' Saturday afternoon program

Trainer-driver Myles Heffernan sent Cruisinart to the lead from Post 3 and the Real Artist-Yieldtotheprincess gelding raced past panels of :29.4, :59.3 and 1:29 en route to victory in 1:58.3. Game Zac (Alex MacNeil) offered up a first over challenger heading into the stretch, but couldn't catch the repeat winner. He finished second by one and three-quarter lengths while Woodmere Westerner (Greg Sparling) closed from last to grab the show spot.
Cruisinart paid $2.50 to win as the heavy favourite. The eight-year-old bay is now four-for-six this year for owner Johnny Heffernan of Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia. The 26-time career winner has banked $87,456 lifetime.
