Fox Valley Peepsho Upsets In Open
Fox Valley Peepsho, with Marc Campbell in the bike, came out on top after a three-horse battle to the finish to win the open mares feature event Thursday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park
.
Campbell, the leading driver in Charlottetown, and Fox Valley Peepsho stopped the timer with in an impressive 1:57.1 from Post 9 to shock the field for owner James Whalen, Jr. of Vernon Bridge, PEI.
In other action, Glencove Umay won the first of two trot divisions on the card. Kenny Arsenault drove the Carl Bagnall-owned trotter to a 2:03.2 score while driver Danny MacDonald engineered a winning trip in other division aboard Napanee Seelster in gate-to-wire fashion in 2:01.4. MacDonald co-owns with Bill Andrew of Calgary, Alberta.
Another stable star from the Andrew stable, Victory Creed, cruised to a 1:57.4 victory for driver Brian Andrew.
Blu Meadow Willie held off a deep stretch surge to notch his second win in-a-row and third win out of eleven starts for driver Bob MacInnis and his co-owner Brenda MacInnis of Summerside, PEI.
Racing returns Saturday to Red Shores Charlottetown featuring two eliminations of the Cecil Ladner Memorial. Post time is 6 p.m.
