Buffalo's 3yoPF Track Record Falls
On Sunday, June 5 at Buffalo Raceway, New Album won the $21,357 opening division of the New York Sire Stakes for three-year-old pacing fillies in 1:55. The win time eclipsed the former track record of 1:55.2, which was recorded in 2006 by Cannae Cindy.
“I just wanted to get her through that first turn nice and easy,” winning driver Jason Bartlett said about New Album, a daughter of Western Terror. “After I brushed her to the lead, she was on cruise control. She finished strong, and the outcome was never in doubt.”
Trained by Mark Kesmodel, it was the fourth win in five attempts this year for New Album.
All About Kisses (driven by Stephane Bouchard) finished second and Winback Corazon (Phil Fluet) came in third.
In other sire stakes action, new executive director Tim Gordon handed out sire stakes blankets to the following lucky winners:
- OK Dynasty (Scott Young), who went wire to wire in 1:57.2
- Tiamo (Stephane Bouchard), who won by four and a quarter lengths in 1:57.4
- Ms Perfect Circle (Jack Flanigen), who won by a nose in 1:58.4
- From The Start (Stephane Bouchard) who won in a lifetime best 1:56
- Southwind Jazmin (Jason Bartlett), who stopped the timer in 1:56.3
- Hazes Zure Bet (Jim Devaux), who won in 1:56
Live racing at Buffalo Raceway will resume on Wednesday, June 8, with first post scheduled for 6:40 p.m.
