Go On BB Keeps Going At Hoosier Park
Anyone that thought Go On BB was headed to the broodmare ranks following last season is quickly being silenced. The seven-year-old daughter of Dontgetinmyway is now three-for-three at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in 2011 and continuing to dominate the top class of female pacers
on the property.
After winning last week’s $24,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace by five lengths, Go On BB was handicapped to the outside Post 9 in the nine-horse lineup. Driver Ricky Macomber wasted little time getting her to the front of the race, leading the way from the start to post the first quarter in :27.3. Go On BB continued to lead the way through middle fractions of :56.2 and 1:24.2, knowing that Sugar Nips and Mark Evers were tracking every stride she took heading into the lane.
In the stretch, Go On BB found another gear and held her ground, coasting under the wire with a :27.3 final panel to win in a time of 1:52. Sugar Nips held strong for second over Forever Showin Off and Charlie Conrad, who also tracked the top two the entire mile for third.
“This is my favourite horse to drive,” said Macomber, who has driven her to almost all of her Indiana wins. “She gives you 100 per cent every time she races. She’s just all class.”
Go On BB now has more than $1.24 million in career earnings for owner Frank Baldachino of Clarksburg, New Jersey. Her career record of 1:50 was established as a four-year-old at The Meadows. Ron Burke has trained the tough race mare every step of the way, purchasing her as a yearling. Go On BB now has a total of 61 wins in 132 career starts and is Indiana’s richest female of all time.
