Stakes Preppers Surface At Yonkers
A couple of three-year-olds with bigger fish to fry later in the week invaded Yonkers Raceway Monday night, racing in stakes preps

Cold Mist, with the Lismore Pace on her dance card, was a handy victress in the $15,000, sixth race.
Racing from off the pace in her small-track debut, the daughter of Mcardle won by 1-1/4 lengths while pacing the mile-and-one-sixteenth contest in 2:01.2.
It was the fourth career win for Cold Mist ($2.20), who banked just under $250,000 as a freshman. Trainer Steve Elliott co-owns along with Old Block Stables and Kenneth Klein.
"I was pleased. For her first start on a half, I liked what I saw," said driver George Brennan, who enjoyed a six-win performance on the 11-race card.
Brennan and Art Rooney Pace entrant Arockin Hanover wound up a first-up second in the $18,000, ninth race. Arockin Hanover, a Rocknroll Hanover gelding, grabbed the lead early stretch as the 9-10 favourite before bring out finished by American Rage (Jordan Stratton) in an added-distance 2:01.4.
Yonkers Raceway presents those two stakes events for three-year-olds Saturday night, with the aforementioned $307,734 Art Rooney Pace and the $197,634 Lismore Pace. Undefeated (15-for-15) New York-bred filly See You At Peelers takes on the boys in the Rooney.
