Doug McNair Returns Saturday
Trot Insider has learned that young gun Doug McNair will be playing the role of the hired gun tonight
at Georgian Downs.
The 21-year-old driving ace will return to action to drive Mach It Big in the $500,000 Upper Canada Cup. McNair, who was recovering from a shattered knuckle suffered in an accident at Grand River on May 2, will pick up the drive for the injured Mark MacDonald in the lucrative final. McNair told Trot Insider that he is slated to drive a number of horses for trainer Randy Van Meer as well, but due to a delayed flight into Buffalo his ETA at Georgian is later than earlier anticipated.
Other confirmed driver changes for Georgian's Saturday night card of harness racing include the following:
- Race 2, James MacDonald on Mach Me Laugh
- Race 5, Trevor Ritchie will drive Aisling
- Race 7, Mario Baillargeon on Enough Talk
- Race 12, J.R. Plante on Keystone Nobility
