Trot Insider has learned that horseman Harry Kerr passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the age of 69, after a

short and courageous battle with cancer.

Precious husband and best friend of Jane (Lassaline) Kerr of 49 years. Forever in the hearts of his children, Denis (Shelley), Christine (Allan) McWhinney, Jacqueline (Bradley) Porter. One-of-a-kind 'Pepe' to Gregory (Jillian), Michael, Kayla, Jenna, Jordan, Jared and Kennedy. Proud 'Big Pepe' to Tyson, Chase, and Reece. Also survived by brothers, Gerald (Donna) of Blyth, Ron (Susan), Arnold (Norene),and sister Betty (Bruce) Culbert, all of Goderich, Ont. Brother in law of Denis (Sue) and Mark (Barb) Lassaline of Goderich. Son in law of Gerald Lassaline of Goderich. Predeceased by his parents Carman & Dorothy Kerr, his mother in law Beulah Lassaline and sister in law Annette Kerr. Harry will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Harry's true passions in life were his family, his horses and life on the farm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society.

At Harry's request there will be no funeral home visitation.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Goderich on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery.
