Outlawpositivcharg Helps Kick Off Summerside Meet
Outlawpositivcharg, with trainer-driver Terry Gallant in the bike, recorded the fastest mile this year on Prince Edward Island Wednesday night at Red Shores Summerside during the opening card of the 2011 season
. The time of the mile was a blistering 1:56.3. Fred Lamont of Calgary, Alberta is the proud owner.
The two-time Governor’s Plate champ was on top at every call then kicked into over-drive when he leveled a :27.4 final quarter to win over Ultimate Success, with Lenny Myers, and Life Savior for Marc Campbell.
Gallant scored a training triple on the card and added one more victory for the driving grand slam.
Dontlooknow, owned by Cathy Benedict, Andrea and Ryder Rennison of Truro, N.S., won the Clifford Wedge Memorial for driver George Rennison in 2:00 flat.
Racing returns to Red Shores Charlottetown Thursday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 6 p.m. Red Shores Summerside holds its next card of racing Wednesday with a 7 p.m. post time.
