Jamieson Presented With Colours
In a special trackside ceremony Sunday at Mohawk Racetrack Jody Jamieson received the set of Canadian colours he’ll be wearing at this year’s World Driving Championship
.
The Moffat, Ontario reinsman, who was joined in the winner’s circle by his wife, Stephanie, and his daughter, Hailey, was presented his helmet and silks by Tammy McNiven, Chair of Standardbred Canada and John Gallinger, President and CEO of Standardbred Canada.
On Saturday, May 7, Jamieson won Canada’s National Driving Championship, earning the honour of representing Canada in this year’s World Driving Championship which takes place in the U.S. from July 31 to August 5.
2011 will mark the fourth time that Jamieson will take part in the World Driving Championship. He was the world driving champion in the 2001 event hosted in Finland and Sweden, and he finished second in the 2003 event hosted by Canada and also took part in the 2005 WDC in Italy.
The two-time O’Brien Award winner as Canada’s Driver of the Year has more than 5,800 victories and over $77 million in career purse earnings.
