Proven Lover, a dominate force in last year’s invitational circuit, will make his 2011 debut Saturday night in the feature division at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. First-race post time for the 12-dash card is 6:00 p.m.

The top class (Race 11) has some of the region’s best vying for the major share of the $2,400 purse. Proven Lover is coming off two qualifiers charted in 2:01.4 and his last outing in a flashy 1:58.1 for driver Gary Chappell and trainer Stacy Lund.

The seven-year-old son of Real Desire will have to knock off some heavy hitters that already have a couple of starts under their belts. Matt Trapper has won his last two races in the 1:57, but will have to contend from Post 8. Blue Star Outlaw and Jason Hughes also drew outside. The luck of the draw went to Outlawpositivcharg, who drew Post 3 for Terry Gallant.

The night will be filled with stars, as trotting champion Scarlett Patti will debut this year in the Open Trot.
