Rock To Ride, presented by Alpha Natural Resources, will be held the evening of Saturday, August 27, 2011 in Paddock Park at the Red Mile Race Track benefiting Horse Aid Live

. Horse Aid Live has officially rescheduled its Lexington, Kentucky Memorial Day concert event to August when the weather is warmer and more reliable. Paddock Park at The Red Mile Racetrack is an iconic outdoor event venue located in the heart of Lexington at 1200 Red Mile Road.

The full lineup will be announced shortly, but several popular regional bands have been confirmed.

Kentucky-based rock band Ash Wednesday is thrilled to be able to play for Horse Aid Live and play by the principle: "We’re all in this together, and everything is gonna be all right.” The four member band has the distinction of being the first independent band to be picked up for rotation by a Clear Channel station in December 2005. "They have been compared to Tom Petty, that is, if he got in a fistfight with Oasis," said the band members of Ash Wednesday.

Also confirmed to play is longtime popular regional band Thumper and the Plaid Rabbits. Formed in a dark corner of a fraternity house at the University of Kentucky in 1985, 25 years later the five members describe the band: "We wouldn't step foot in a fraternity house anymore, but they are still louder than bombs and will rock the [exploitive] out of your bottom drawer."

“Paddock Park at The Red Mile is a wonderful facility and we thought August's weather would be a much better fit for an outdoor annual event and provide concert goers and sponsors the benefit of a weekend evening event,” stated Cyndi Greathouse, Horse Aid Live founder and executive director.
