Canada’s Two-Year-Old Trotting Filly of the Year in 2010, Crys Dream, was triumphant in her 2011 debut at Woodbine Racetrack on Monday evening, and she looked awesome getting the job done

for driver Luc Ouellette.

With just a 1:58 qualifying victory under her belt at Mohawk Racetrack on April 29, trainer Henrik Hollsten dropped Crys Dream in with seasoned male and female foes in a $25,000 conditioned event, and she simply toyed with them when Luc Ouellette called on her for speed.

Ouellette tracked cover from third over with the three-year-old daughter of Taurus Dream-Crystas Image, and when he flipped her off that cover shortly after coming off the final turn she used a :27.2 final quarter to blow by the leaders. She wound up winning in wrapped-up fashion by two lengths in an impressive clocking of 1:54.2.

“There is only one word that can describe this filly, unreal,” driver Luc Ouellette said following the victory. “I didn’t say one word to her the entire mile. When I tipped her three-wide, she took off on her own, it was like she was shot out of a cannon. I was just a passenger tonight. She tracked horses very well and I knew I had tons of trot turning
for home. She is a special, special horse.”

Reve Avec Moi Dreamwithme, who also bred the filly, shares ownership on the outstanding square gaiter with Deo Volente Farms LLC, T L P Stable and Jerry Silva. She finished her rookie season going 7-for-8 and banking just shy of $600,000.

Yes! Please... she may be able to beat the boys. If she can trot 53 at Woodbine by qualifier week, I hope they go for it.
