A set of big money finals were contested on Sunday afternoon at Clinton Raceway, with male pacers sparring in the $21,600 Spring Cleaning Stake and trotters going toe-to-toe in the $18.600 Spring Cleaning Stake

Wyatts Delight erupted for an 11-1 upset in the final for the pacers for the tandem of driver Garrett Rooney and trainer Rob Lindenfield. The six-year-old son of Bettors Delight-Wienerschnitzel survived a first-over journey en route to winning by three-quarters of a length over Lil Pilgrim in 2:00.1. Race favourite Dolce And Gapanna was third.

Ron and Rob Lindenfield share ownership on the gelding who improved his 2011 record to 4-2-0 in 15 starts with the win. The lion’s share of the purse helped his bankroll climb just past $100,000.

Berto Bravo, who was sent off as the even-money favourite, turned in a dominant performance in the final for the trotters. The six-year-old son of Dr Ronerail-Spark Of Abbey parked past the quarter pole in :29.3 before strolling through middle panels of 1:00.2 and 1:31.2. He used a :30.4 final frame to win by 13-1/2 lengths over Abigail Eden in 2:02.1. Louise Albert grabbed the show dough.

Scott Zeron mapped out the winning trip for the gelding, who is owned and trained by Don Meekison, Jr. of Shakespeare, ON. The five-time winner, who has banked more than $61,000 to date, has put together a 2-2-2 record from 13 starts this season.

The program also featured the first leg of the Spring Cleaning Stake for filly and mare pacers. Taking their $3,000 divisions were Jodys Charm (1:58.3), Cammie Dare (2:03), Grayland Curious (1:59.3) and Behindthelines (2:01.3).
