Jans Luck Finds Room Late; Five For Hall
Blocked twice in the stretch, Jans Luck finally found a seam and charged through to capture Friday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows
.
A winner of 38 previous races, Jans Luck called on her experience and professionalism when she moved off the pylons for Dave Palone, only to find a tiring horse before her in the two-path and still another rival to her outside. She waited without losing momentum, then rallied in the slop to prevail in 1:53. Her stablemate, The Assassinator, finished a half-length back in second, giving trainer Ron Burke an exacta sweep, while Spring Break shot the Lightning Lane for third.
Jans Luck, a seven-year-old daughter of Camluck-Jans Scooter, extended her career bankroll to $886,292 for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, JJK Stables and M1 Stable.
Tony Hall drove five winners on the 15-race card.
