.
A report by the Lexington Herald-Leader explains that there seems to be bi-partisan support for the piece of legislation, as Senator Tom Udall also filed the piece of legislation in the Senate on Wednesday.
"Despite repeated promises from the racing industry to end this practice, meaningful action and oversight has yet to come forth," Whitfield was quoted as saying. "This legislation will bring much-needed reforms to an industry that supports thousands of jobs and is enjoyed by spectators nationwide."
