Stewart Perfect On Sunday At Rideau

Trainer Chance Stewart had his crew firing on all cylinders as noted in the fact that he batted 1.000 with the three starters he sent out during Sunday evening’s 15-race program at Rideau Carleton Raceway

.

Stewart watched D Gs Woodstock get the ball rolling when he mauled seven rivals in Race 2. The four-year-old son of Yankee Cam laid down all the speed and drew off to win by 5-1/2 lengths in 1:54.2 for driver Denis St. Pierre.

Next up was Double O Seven, who used off-the-pace tactics and last second heroics to capture Race 9 for the tandem of St. Pierre and Stewart in 1:56.3. The five-year-old gelded son of Aces N Sevens was sent off at odds of 7-1.

Some Hearts gave Stewart and St. Pierre the triple thanks to his 1:56 triumph in Race 13. The four-year-old son of Western Terror brushed to the top shortly past the half and drew clear to win the $5,450 assignment by 2-3/4 lengths.

Pierre ended up catch-driving Shark Watch to a 1:56.3 victory in Race 14, thus bringing his nightly win total to four.

As for Stewart, he has sent out 82 starters this season – the same number he sent out in all of 2010 – and he is already 10 wins ahead of last year’s 14-win campaign. His biggest purse haul came in 2007 when his troops took in more than $143,000. He has already banked more than $123,000 this year.
