Someheartsomewhere Qualifies In Florida
After making her on-track debut last weekend, Someheartsomewhere was back in action at Southern Oaks Training Centre on Friday for her second qualifier of the season
.
With trainer Erv Miller in the bike, the full sister to the great Somebeachsomewhere followed stablemate Blissfull Fluzy (Lewayne Miller) through early fractions of :28.4 and :59 before taking control. Someheartsomewhere reached the third quarter mark in 1:27 and pulled away by two and a half lengths to score in 1:55.2 with a :28.2 final frame.
"So far she's got the right attitude,” said Miller in a recent interview on Trot Radio. “I haven't pressed on her too hard as I want to keep her pretty healthy so I really don't know how far she's going to go other than I'm pretty sure she'll be a decent race mare."
The three-year-old Mach Three-Wheres The Beach filly, who turned in a 1:58 effort in her first qualifier on April 16, was purchased at the 2009 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale for $210,000 by Ron Michelon of Northbrook and John Carver of Rapids City, Illinois. She is expected to make her pari-mutuel debut on Canadian soil at Woodbine Racetrack.
