Keeling's Trotting Troops Triple Up

Trainer Mike Keeling enjoyed a perfect night at Western Fair Raceway sending out three winners in as many starts during the 12-race Friday night harness racing program

Three-year-old Cash Hall colt House Of Cash ($5.60) and driver Ross Battin kicked off the Keeling triple in the third race, winning his career debut in 2:04 for owners P C Wellwood Enterprises Inc. of Cambridge, Ont. and Stake Your Claim Stable of Secaucus, New Jersey.

Next up was Cheque The Shine ($11.10), a four-year-old homebred daughter of Southwind Lustre, who broke her maiden in the eighth race in 2:06 with Stephen Davis in the bike for Keeling, who co-owns with Ronald Keeling of Owen Sound, Ont.

Keeling teamed up with Davis again to capture the finale with five-year-old Mutineer gelding Piracy ($13.20), who stopped the clock in 2:04 for Wellwood Stables Inc. and P C Wellwood Enterprises Inc.

Keeling's triple doubled his win total for the year. The resident of Cambridge, Ont. has sent out 236 winners over the course of his career while earning over $4.5 million in purses.
