Dutrow's Kentucky License Scrutinized
According to a report, the state of New York isn't the only jurisdiction which is mulling the future of trainer Rick Dutrow's license to condition horses

An article by the Thoroughbred Times explains that the License Review Committee of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission will be considering the status Dutrow’s license at a meeting scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13.
On February 17, RCI President Ed Martin formally requested that the New York State Racing and Wagering Board commence a review of Dutrow's license. A letter from RCI to the NYSRWB outlined that Dutrow has violated the rules of racing in nine different states, at 15 racetracks, and has been cited 64 times during his training career.
“In addition to numerous violations of the drug rules pertaining to phenylbutazone, clenbuterol, and mepivacaine, there are violations concerning failure to adhere to licensing requirements, entering ineligible horses, conduct detrimental to racing involving false or misleading statements, as well as a variety of violations concerning failure to file proper documentation consistent with the rules,” Martin wrote in his letter.
The NYSRWB has scheduled a meetings from May 11-12 to discuss the status of Dutrow’s license.
