Fire At Harrington Raceway

A fire broke out during the early morning hours of Thursday, March 31 at Harrington Raceway

.

The fire was reported at 2:11 a.m. at 42 Chambers Circle, Harrington, in Kent County after the building’s fire sprinkler system and fire alarm system activated, notifying 911.

The Harrington Fire Company, along with Harrington Police officers, were dispatched to respond. Harrington Police officers arrived first and reported a fire in a maintenance room, at the rear of the complex, had been extinguished by the building’s fire sprinkler system.

The Carlisle Fire Company of Milford and Farmington Fire Company also responded to assist.

The situation was placed under control at 2:39 a.m. The building involved was safely evacuated with no injuries reported. Damages were minor and confined to the maintenance room due to the quick activation of the fire sprinkler system.

Deputy State Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.

According to an official release, The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office is investigating the fire.
