Northside Hosts Mildred Williams Pace
For the second time, the Mildred Williams International Driving Series was hosted by Northside Downs on Saturday afternoon and Tipphill Booze Hag used front-end tactics to prevail in the $600 pacing event.
Leaving from the inside post, Tipphill Booze Hag (Stacy Chiodo) posted fractions of :29.1, :59.2 and 1:30.1 before coasting home for the win by a length and three quarters in 2:02.1.
Soul City (Carole Dumont) finished second and Atlantictemptation (Ambyr MacPhree) was third.
Tipphill Booze Hag is trained and owned by Melissa Hawco of Sydney, N.S. To date, the five-year-old Bettors Delight mare has made five trips to the winner's circle earning almost $34,000 in purses.
Chiodo picked up another win on the card in the $550 Midtown Auto Pace in rein to the Kevin Bailey trainee Sensiable Force in a 2:04.2 wire-to-wire effort.
