Indiana Hall Takes Preferred Trot

After making a quarter pole move, Indiana Hall cruised to victory in the $14,800 Preferred Trot to close out Western Fair Raceway's Wednesday evening program

After Winzel (Dave Wall) settled on top off the gate, Indiana Hall and driver Robert Shepherd pulled the pocket past the :29-second opening quarter to take command. The eight-year-old gelding proceeded to the half in 1:00 and three-quarters in 1:30.1 before crossing the wire in 2:00.1 with two lengths to spare. The popular son of Striking Sahbra-Inverlochy was followed by closers Hp Forte (Ondrej Gois), a 22-1 longshot, and Flora Dream (Doug McNair).

Indiana Hall paid $4.20 to win for the third time in seven starts this year. His 33rd career win pushed his earnings to $31,350 for 2011 and $617,726 lifetime. Ian Downey trains the gelding for the S S G Stables of North Boston, New York.
