Georgian Downs has cancelled its Saturday evening racing program due to unsafe track conditions

“We made it through this morning’s qualifiers in pretty good shape, but once the temperature started to rise around noon, a significant amount of water started to seep to the surface and pool,” said Chris Roberts, Director of Racing Operations. “We started adding material, but the heavy equipment was doing more harm than good, so in consultation with local horsemen’s representatives, we elected to cancel tonight’s racing.”

Georgian Downs resumes live racing on Tuesday evening at 7:25 p.m.
