No NH Expanded Gaming Talks Until 2012

According to a report, the topic of expanded gaming at Rockingham Park will not be considered during the 2011 calendar year

.

An article today by the Eagle-Tribune has cited New Hampshire Senator Jim Rausch as saying that a brief hearing was held March 7 by the Senate Ways and Means Committee on an expanded gambling bill sponsored by Rausch and Senator Lou D'Allesandro. Only four people testified before Senate Bill 182 was sent back to committee.

The report states that Rausch is willing to delay action on expanded gaming until pressing issues such as the state budget are resolved.

D'Allesandro was cited as saying that he would defer to a request from the Senate president to delay action on the bill until 2012. "There's got to be an appetite. I think the perception is the House doesn't want to raise money," he was quoted as saying.
