Seiling Letter On Ontario Racing Program

On Monday, March 7, Ontario Racing Commission Chair Rod Seiling released an open letter in regard to the implementation of the Ontario Racing Program

.

The letter starts off by stating,

With the implementation of the Ontario Racing Program now underway, a new “province-wide” approach to horse racing is closer to reality. The Program is based on a framework that was approved by the Board of the Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) in September 2010, following a 14-month long consultation with the industry. I believe that this framework will greatly improve racing in Ontario, as well as assist the Commission to meet its responsibilities, as set out in the Racing Commission Act.

Congratulations are in order for Rod Seiling and the team at ORC. The Ontario Racing Program appears to be well thought out and a giant step forward in providing a quality product across the province. Further it will put the industry on a far better footing in the very competitive international market.
