Nasty Spill At Chester Downs
Drivers Eric Goodell and Cat Manzi were taken directly to Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Chester, PA for further examination and evaluation following a four-horse spill at Chester Downs in the 12th race on Sunday afternoon.
Both Goodell and Manzi were conscious when they were transported by ambulance from the track.
The accident occurred at the top of the stretch when Fake Denario N (Eric Goodell) fell turning for home. Three trailing horses, Four Starz Sue (Tim Tetrick), Philos Hanover (Cat Manzi) and Western Ace (Brian Sears), were involved in a chain reaction collision as a result of the fallen horse and driver.
Both Tetrick and Sears were able to walk under their own power from the spill. In addition, all four horses got up and walked off the track after the accident.
The day's 13th and final race of the day was cancelled.
