Carlson Clicks For Five In Windsor
After setting personal records for wins and purse earnings in 2010, Michigan resident Eric Carlson is well on his way to another record-setting season in 2011
. With a little more than two months into the season the sulky sitter has racked up 136 wins and purses earnings in excess of $473,000.
Carlson, who won 603 races and racked up more than $1.8 million in purse earnings last year, celebrated a five-win performance at the border oval on Sunday evening. It was an accomplishment that didn't quite measure up to his eight-win night at Northville Downs on Saturday, but it was an impressive feat all the same.
Carlson took the opener with the Brittney Dillon-trained Danny Noonan (1:56.4), who drew off to win by more than six lengths. He returned to victory lane in Race 6 thanks to an off-the-pace tally with Thrill Of Victory (2:00.1). He triumphed in the very next race with Ridden Dirty (1:56.1) and prevailed again in Race 10 with Stonebridge Leader (1:56.1). He capped off his productive night with Armbro Dane (1:56), who cruised an easy 3-1/2 length score in Race 11.
The five-win performance helped increase his lifetime earnings to $4,230,134.
