Lucky Duck is just that considering what the 11-year-old trotter went through before the start of his race on Tuesday evening in Sweden

The veteran somehow got his top row of teeth stuck over the wing of the starting gate, and as a result it forced the starter to signal a recall before springing into action to try to free the horse and his driver, John Wiman.

The starter slowly brought the vehicle to a stop and Lucky Duck was eventually freed from the wing of the gate with no serious injuries. Mamoros Tapper went on to win the race, while Lucky Duck was scratched and forced to watch from the sidelines.
