Perfect M Forever Doubles Up At Dover

The six-year-old daughter of Stand Forever-Perfect Model was a 1:53.3 winner in a conditioned assignment at the Delaware oval one week earlier, and she returned to victory lane on Tuesday following a dominant performance in the $26,000 Fillies and mares Open Handicap.
Perfect M Forever, who drew post five in the seven-mare affair, got away fifth for driver Eric Goodell. In the meantime, High Speed Life and Boots Place battled to the quarter pole in :26.4 before the latter forged to the top. Race favourite Boots Place hit the half in :55.2 and the three-quarter pole in 1:23.4 while feeling first over pressure from Alices Restaurant. Perfect M Forever was stalking the pair of them from second over.
Alices Restaurant put away Boots Place before being quickly overtaken by Perfect M Forever, who used a :27.3 closing panel to win by 3-1/2 lengths over High Speed Life in a time of 1:51.3. Alices Restaurant faded late and settled for third prize.
Sent off at odds of 5-1, the Josh Green trainee matched her lifetime record with the victory. KSJ Stables LLP of Xenia, OH owns the career winner of $413,959 who is now a 36-time winner to date.
