Fraser Open To Tre Bien

Tre Bien turned the tables on fellow Open pacer Killean Cut Kid, cruising to victory over last week’s winner in the $12,500 feature event on Friday night at Fraser Downs

.

Send postward as the odds-on favourite, Tre Bien and trainer-driver Ed Hensley followed Killean Cut Kid (Brandon Campbell) past panels of :27, :57.3 and 1:26 before pulling the pocket. Tre Bien sprinted home to prevail in 1:54.1 over a sloppy track by one and three-quarter lengths. Runner-up Killean Cut Kid was followed under the wire by Cowboy Hanover (Kevin Anderson).

Tre Bien paid $3.40 to win. The eight-year-old son of Nobleland Sam-Tre Cress has recorded two wins and two seconds in four starts at the Open level this year. He notched his 35th career win tonight and pushed his bankroll to $311,707 for Hensley and the J J J Stables of Aldergrove, B.C.

The connections of Tre Bien also won a division of the BBS Mirage Claiming Series for $9,000 claiming mares with Lil Kim in 1:56.3. She earned her second straight victory in the series after opening up five lengths in the stretch.

After finishing fifth in the opening round, Red Star Brooklyn front-stepped her way to a 1:57 victory in her $7,100 second leg division for trainer-driver David Hudon and owner Bill Boden of Vancouver, B.C.
