Golden Receiver Sets Tioga Track Record
Golden Receiver established a new track record for three-year-old pacing geldings at Tioga Downs on Sunday afternoon when he stepped toured the oval in a career-best clocking of 1:51.4.
The son of Village Jove accomplished the feat in his $10,700 division of the New York Sires Stakes later closer. Sean McAleese was in the sulky for Nina Simmonds, who owns, trains and bred the pacer.
In the first division of the New York Sires Stakes late closer, Boat King and Chuck Connor Jr. used "catch me if you can" tactics to score in 1:55.2.
Corey Braden and New Release took down the third and final division in 1:53.4. The clocking destroyed the previous lifetime mark for the son of Pro Bono Best.
