A 2:01.1 triumph at Western Fair Raceway’s half-miler on Tuesday extended Makindollarsnsense’s winning streak to seven-in-a-row, and that was music to the ears of the bettors who hammered down to closing odds of 1-9 in th3 $7,000 conditioned event.
Trainer/driver Greg Dustin got away fourth with the four-year-old daughter of Astreos-Shame On You before tipping the mare to the outside in the second quarter. She was a parked out third at the mid-way point, but improved a position while still sitting on the rim at the three-quarter pole. A :31-second final quarter is all she needed to put away pacesetter Comical Princess, who came up a length short in her attempt to play spoiler. Bluejay Chip was third.
The 2:01.1 triumph for Makindollarsnsense, who is owned by Gys Versteegh of London and Ted Melchers of Komoka, ON, was her fourth of the season and it bumped her lifetime earnings to $22,000.
