Shepherd To Guest At 'The Fair'

Robert Shepherd, one of Ontario’s busiest drivers, will be Greg Blanchard’s guest prior to Western Fair Raceway’s Wednesday, February 9 card of live racing

.

A native of Prince Edward Island, Shepherd began his career in the Maritimes before moving to Alberta where he drove on the Calgary/Edmonton circuit for a few years. He moved to Ontario in 2006 and has become one of the province’s most active drivers.

Shepherd, who was seriously injured in a horrific accident at Woodbine in March of 2009 that involved several of the sport's top drivers, recovered to enjoy one of his best years in the sulky last season with 255 wins and $2.2 million in earnings. Lifetime, his totals show 1,343 trips to the winner’s circle and well over $10 million in purses.

The interview with Shepherd, who has eight drives on Western Fair's Wednesday program, will get underway at 3:05 p.m.
