Dakota Noc Extends Streak, Equals Track Record
Dakota Noc notched his eighth consecutive victory and equaled the track record in a $7,500 conditioning event for two-year-olds at Hippodrome Gatineau on Saturday afternoon.
Driver John MacDonald left from the inside post with his charge, posting panels of :29, 1:00 and 1:29 before pulling away from the field by six lengths. The post time favourite charged home in a :29.1 final quarter for the win in 1:58.2, equaling the track record he set on July 12.
Xcell Irish Spirit (Sylvain Lacaille) finished second and Quincy Bayama (Yves Filion) was third.
The Pearl River Matt colt is trained and owned by Paul Seguin of Gatineau, Que. With 10 wins in 12 starts, Dakota Noc has earned over $29,000. He is currently the winningest two-year-old pacer in North America.
