Trotter Extends Win Streak To 39
Setting a new world record with his winning streak, trotter Bentley Sun trounced his rivals for the 39th consecutive time on Friday night
at Karlshorst Racetrack in Berlin.
In the 2,000 metre race, the eight-year-old Allegro Sun-Blue Sun gelding and driver Marisa Bock led the field of trotters around the muddy Karlshorst Racetrack en route to the victory. Richelieu (Kay Werner) finished second by half a length after launching a late attack in the stretch and Blue Eye (Jörg Thrun) was third.
Trained by Roman Matzky and owned by Ernst Riemekasten, Bentley Sun hasn’t missed a beat in two and a half years.
German trotter Body Guard held the former record for warm-blooded trotters having put together a 38-race win streak while Swedish trotter Järvsöfaks holds the record for cold-blooded trotters having won 42 consecutive races.
