Maywood Park has cancelled its live racing card scheduled for Thursday, February 3, 2011 due to inclement

weather.

After a blizzard dumped more than 20 inches of snow on the Chicagoland area on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, high winds have caused severe blowing and drifting making removal of the snow from the racing surface nearly impossible.

The drifting and icy conditions have also made many of the roads unpassable throughout the state for horsemen that ship to Maywood. A wind chill advisory has been put into effect after temperatures plunged into the -5 to -20 throughout the evening.

No decision has been made as of yet regarding Friday’s live racing program at Maywood Park but the track will be open on for simulcast wagering on Thursday.
