Five For Brown At Kawartha
The Thursday program at Kawartha Downs belonged to driver Gord Brown, who made five trips to victory lane over the course of the 12-race card
.
Brown started the card by taking the first three races. He clicked in the opener with Lucky Gift (1:56.3), and then tacked on wins with Another Cowgirl (1:56.4) and Gothic Crusader (1:58.1) to complete the natural hat trick.
Stoic (1:59.4) went gate-to-wire for Brown in Race 4 to give the teamster the Grand Slam, and he turned it into a five bagger compliments of Papa Pellegrino’s (2:01.1) come-from-behind triumph in Race 10.
Brown has racked up six consecutive seasons with more than $1 million in purse earnings, and he shouldn’t have any problem making it seven straight seasons based on the way he has come out of the blocks to begin the 2011 campaign.
