Young Joins Race Night
The cast of Race Night on the Score will have a special youngster joining them on tonight's broadcast as Scott Young, the 16-year-old son of well-known horseman, Bob Young, will hit the airwaves with the WEG broadcast team.
"I purchased 'A night on the Score' prize package at an SBOA benefit a few years ago," said Bob Young. "So they asked me to set a date up and then Scott went and did an interview with Doug McNair after he won the Battle of Waterloo, so they have some footage of Scott and Doug training."
"They're going to do an interview with him tonight and then he'll do some handicapping with Mike Hamilton a couple of races later and then they have a little feature they did with Scott and Doug McNair at the farm," he added.
The younger Young has a lot of things on his plate in the next few weeks. He's going for his vehicle driver's license tomorrow and Bob indicated Scott will be writing his trainer's license this year, as well.
When asked about what's in store for the youngster after that, Young was quick to mention it will be something along the lines of school, school and more school.
"Scott's going into Grade 12 this fall, and then he's got to find somewhere to go to school for two or three more years after that."
