Grudge Match Grabs Fifth Straight Win
A field of $5,000 claiming pacers was no match for Grudge Match on Wednesday night at Windsor Raceway. The Jeff Brewer trainee converted from the pocket in the evening's third race to rack up his fifth consecutive victory

Driver Trace Tetrick positioned the seven-year-old son of Real Desire-Matchpoint Hanover in the two-hole after leaving from Post 8. The fan favourite followed eventual fourth-place finisher Hard Oil Albert (Mark MacQuarrie) through opening splits of :27.3 and :57.2 before making his move. Grudge Match advanced to the lead and took over at the 1:26.3 third quarter mark, then paced home to a 1:57.1 victory by 1-1/4 lengths. Couisin Nate (Eric Carlson) and Taylor C (Mike Novick) finished second and third.
The winner paid $3.70 as the 4-5 favourite.
Grudge Match began his winning streak on December 19 at Windsor for owner Lynda Brewer of Morrow, Ohio. He is now four-for-four this year and has won a total of 18 times over the course of his career to earn $81,960.
