Michael ‘Mickey’ Chasanoff, the Long Island real estate developer that owned some of harness racing’s best horses, including Die Laughing, Homesick and the top mare So Cozy, has passed away at age 78

.

He passed away Friday, January 21 at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

The son of the late Hanna and Harris Chasanoff, Mickey leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Judy, and their children: Nancy and Michael Butler, Stephen and Susan, Robert and Veronica; grandchildren: Daniel, Allison, Jenna, Chloe, Brian, Jamie; brother: Allan, and Joanna Bayless.

Funeral Services were held today at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 West 76th Street, New York City, at 11:45 a.m.
