Art I Special Certainly Is
The win streak is now at six for Art I Special after another strong performance for driver Stephane Gendron and trainer Jamie Copley at Rideau Carleton Raceway
on Sunday night.
Gendron left alertly from Post 5 with Art I Special in their $8,800 conditioned contest and the duo opened up in :28.3 before stealing a soft 1:10.3 middle half through splits of :59.4 and 1:30.1. A :28.4 closer was certainly not out of the question for Art I Special off those panels and certainly was enough to dispatch their foes in 1:59.
A four-year-old son of Artsplace - Annie Your A Card, Art I Special is co-owned by trainer Copley with Michel Frenette of Portneuf, QC.
In the next race, Gendron and Copley connected again with claiming pacer Mas O Menos for owner Louis Lecuyer and the duo completed the triple in Race 9 with Ecuries Maguire's Summerhill Charles.
Gendron, who won five races on Thursday night at the capital oval, already has 24 wins in 75 starts along with a stellar .474 average. Not to be outdone, Copley how has 21 wins in 44 starts and sports a scintillating .601 average in 2011.
