Gendron Strikes For Five
It was another banner night for driver Stephane Gendron at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday, tallying five victories on the card
with yet another multi-win performance at the capital oval.
Beginning in the fifth race, Gendron guided Crossroad Of Life to a gate-to-wire win by an easy four lengths to oblige as the favourite. He was victorious by the same margin in Race 7 aboard another chalk in the form of Intrepidus.
Gendron rang up the hat trick when he hit the top of the ticket in Race 9 with the trotting gelding Packin, then swept both ends of the late double with a pair of coast-to-coast wins aboard Red Rose Blue Lady and
Candy N Apples.
Originally from Quebec City, Gendron has blasted out of the gate in 2011, with 21 wins on 62 starts, a dizzying UDRS of .482 and more than $100,000 in purse earnings.
